I've known Kyle since he was 13.  I can honestly say that he is one of my favorite people from our hometown of Beaver Dam, WI!  Ever since him and Kristen started dating when they were in college together at UW-Whitewater, I've been telling him that "when he proposes to Kristen, I want to shoot his wedding one day"!  Fast forward a few years and here I am, photographing their snowy Madison, Wisconsin engagement session and their Summer wedding in a few months. Kristen and Kyle were both athletes at Whitewater where they met.  They are an adorable, fun-loving couple who are so obviously in love (You'll see in the images below).  We met up near Lake Monona in Madison, WI for their engagement session.  We completely lucked out with the perfect weather conditions which created all the beautiful frost on the trees the night before.  We couldn't have asked for a better day complete with a frozen lake, the Madison skyline, frosty trees, and a toboggan!  Here are some of my favorites from their snowy engagement session with me.

Bridget and Eric Spielman are my sisters two best friends from High School and they just so happen to have married each other.  They are both teachers in Sheboygan, WI, just a hop, skip, and a jump away from our hometown of Beaver Dam.  My sister was being inducted into our High School Sports Hall of Fame and Bridget and Eric brought their family to town to visit with Marie and to help celebrate at a cookout at my Mom's house.  We decided to take some family photos during the cookout and my Mom's backyard was the perfect place to capture Ella and Cole running around the massive and impeccably landscaped area. Ella and Cole are the cutest, blondest, most well mannered children!  They are so cute together and Ella is always there to help Cole with something and to give him kisses.  Ella loves to dance, do cartwheels, run around, and was always ready to smile for my camera.  I think I had at least 300 photos alone of her dancing!  Here are some of my favorites from the Spielman's laid back backyard session!

This is my 3rd year photographing 4 and a half year old Mackenzie!  She's the daughter of one of my good friend, Megan, from High School and we always get together for some photos when I'm back home in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin.  Megan and Mackenzie live outside Chicago, so they can easily zip up to our hometown to meet me. Mackenzie is really turning into Megan's "mini-me" and it's making me want a mini-me of my own!  I love chasing her around and photographing her just being herself; swinging from willow trees, throwing rocks into the lake to watch it make a splash, and dancing across a bridge like no one is watching.  We also gave her some glitter to throw around and she had so much fun with it.

The location for this session is near to my heart because it's where my wedding reception was last year!  The weather was just on the verge of Fall and some of the leaves were just starting to change.  There's nothing like that feeling in the air in the beginning of Fall in Wisconsin...  We stayed at the park until sunset and watched the sun fall below the horizon from a fishing pier on the lake.  Here are some of my favorites from our session.
